That Bad Bitch

I love it when a man can let go of his inhibitions just enough to talk about LOVE. That’s a part of men we rarely, if ever, get to see… And to me, it’s just so sexy. Wale talks about that stupid kind of love which makes you do things you wouldn’t normally even think of doing! But that’s what makes it so much fun and really unforgettable. You haven’t really lived until you’ve experienced it. For me I think it was my first love. But then you grow up and you realize that love is just not enough, or you’ve grown into different people. It’s still a beautiful thing to experience and I don’t regret it one bit.

The irony in the pursuit of success is that once some of us achieve the dream we swore we wanted, the things that were important on the road to it tend to deteriorate — family, “friends” and often love.When I was in early high school, I would chant nonsense like money over bitches. Looking back, I cringe. After failed relationships, failed “flings,” failed attempts at being a gigolo, player, or anything under that umbrella, I made a self declaration that 2010 will be the year of #thatthing. #thatthing is an absolute anomaly. It’s unexplainable. It soothes, it kills, it holds, it harms. It literally can grant life or death with one touch. And for this reason, many of us wear masks, metaphorically of course. Masks that cover insecurities. Masks that prevent #thatthing from capturing you in its relentless clutch. The fear of being hurt, for some, is far more important then the joy of being in love.

Women, how many men have you met who surround themselves around so many women, they wouldn’t be able to distinguish “the one” if she were right under his nose? I propose the same question to the dudes: Have you ever courted someone and did everything in your power to make her “open her eyes” (Bobby Caldwell x Common)? Yet she still wants to be in the club every other day or she tells you she doesn’t want commitment. That is her trying not to be vulnerable. That is the proverbial wall that can’t be penetrated because even the briefest daydream of #thatthing will send her into shock. #thatthing has the staring role in life’s movie. A nigga may have never experienced #thatthing, but his mother/father/sister/brother/teammate’s experiences may have been enough to instill the fear. A woman may never have experienced that thing, but her homegirl/bestfriend/play-cousin just may have made a fool of herself at a local club, go-go, movie theater or mall because of #thatthing.

So I want to talk about The Other Woman and issues surrounding infidelity. I know I’m hardly ever serious on here but I think it’s important once in a very long while… Lately I’ve been seeing so many issues with infidelity everywhere I look. Examples: the Alicia-Swizz Beatz-Mashonda situation, the Tiger Woods fiasco and our very own Valerie Kimani-Eric Wainaina-Sheba Hirst scandal. This issue has really hit home with me for a number of reasons. In fact, I have quite a huge confession to make. This will be a long post so please find the rest after the jump…

So Chris Brown was in Italy for Fashion Week. If this is fashion, then I think we’re better off with figs and leaves. Most of his outfits were just atrocious!!! Chris needs to fire whoever lied to him that he will be a trendsetter with these threads. If my man (I love you honey!) showed up in something like this, I would personally take him shopping for mitumba clothes. People don’t understand that some of the shit on runways are meant FOR THE RUNWAY!!!

Halle Berry is a bad bish… And I know it’s wrong but I can’t help but be jealous!!! She’s an older woman who’s just given birth and she looks way better than I ever have! Yeah, I know she has help in terms of money for stylists, beauty treatments, etc. The fact is she’s hot and other bishes want to be HER!!!

So Tiger’s list of mpango wa kandos has risen to 15!!! OK realistically, we know men like some side action every now and then. But Tiger has taken it to the next level! This is the album cover for Sade’s new album Soldier of Love which is due in stores on February 8th 2010. I think it’s absolutely beautiful and I can’t wait!!! Been too damn long… This is Sade’s first official studio album since the multi-platinum release of Lovers Rock in 2000.

Sade has enjoyed phenomenal success both internationally and stateside throughout the span of their twenty-five year career. Since the release of their debut album, Diamond Life in 1984, the band has seen all five of their studio albums land in the Top 10 on Billboard’s Top 200 Album Chart selling a total of more than 50 million albums worldwide to date. Robin Thicke is the latest artist to collaborate with Nicki Minaj on a song titled “Shakin It For Daddy”.  The interesting thing about the song is that it was Jay-z’s idea for Robin to snag Nicki for a verse:

“It was Jay’s idea,” Thicke said about how Nicki Minaj came to be on “Shakin’ It 4 Daddy.” “We were in the studio, and I played him the whole album. He was like, ‘You should get Nicki Minaj on that. She’s got that voice. She’s got that swag.’ So I leaned over and was like, ‘Somebody get Nicki Minaj on the phone! Jay-Z said so!’ Next thing you know, we called Nicki. She was excited. But once we told her it was Jay-Z’s idea to get her on the track, she started screaming on the phone. She was all excited. She’s a super, super talent. I can’t wait to do a video with Nicki. There’s a power in her. It’s not just that she’s sexy and that’s the only way she can get you to like her. She’s got charm — not just sex. Some women may use sex to get what they want; others have charm. She’s got charm.

So I figure I need to do a post about the enigma that is Amber Rose. She suddenly burst into the limelight this year on the arm of Kanye West. From the jump, paparazzi just couldn’t get enough of her. With her signature blonde, cropped hair, she has taken the world by storm. Hate her or lover her, you can’t knock her hustle. She’s come from being a stripper (yeah I know!) to inking a modelling contract with Ford Models. Bish is getting that money. And you know how she looked plain ghetto when she came out? She seems to be making the transformation to a bad, classy itchbay!!! I try not to knock people for their mistakes or what not. Adam Lambert, last season’s American Idols runner-up, performed a raunchy performance at the American Music Awards Sunday night, interrupted by a quick tumble on stage. Lambert alternately had a dancer on a leash, had a dancer’s head grinding against his crotch simulating oral sex, and had a hand on his own crotch. He also made out with a male band member and flipped his middle finger.

…Usher asked Tameka for a DNA test… Rumor has it that Usher didn’t believe this child, Naviyd Ely Raymond, was his son. I don’t blame him. That kid looks nothing like Usher. Usher’s firstborn, Usher Raymond V a.k.a “Cinco”, looks exactly like his father. Especially when you consider that Tameka is the mother to both these children. I always wondered why Usher would be seen out & about with only one of his children and not the other.
