Monetta Shaw is pregnant with Ne-Yo’s child. She should be giving birth in January of next year. Ne-Yo recently gave an interview to Cleveland’s 107.9 Radio Station. I don’t even know where to begin. I understand that men are scared of marriage. But shouldn’t you be more scared of having a baby with someone you are not ready to marry? Just seems like such a disconnect. If I were her I’d feel really disrespected, best friend or not. Anyway, here’s a bit of what he had to say:

I am not engaged to be married but I am about to have my first child. I was never engaged. I’m having a child with my best friend on the face of the planet. She’s a beautiful person and yes, we’re about to have a baby. We are not engaged, we have never been engaged.

I love DRAMA!!! Back in the day, I loved Xscape. They were like a symbol of girl power even before the Spice Girls madness. Kick off your shoes, relax your feet, party on down to the Xscape beat, just kickin’… That was my jam! Then they just disappeared. Until a few years ago when Tamika Scott gave an interview on radio saying Kandi slept with producer Jermaine Dupri and the group basically went to pieces. Popular radio host Angela Yee recently interviewed Kandi who confirmed that the incident did happen but she insists that she did not break up the group.

We rarely ever see Halle giving interviews on her private life. She hasn’t given a proper interview in 3 years. Somehow, Vogue has managed to give us great insight into Halle, her thoughts on her split with her long time partner and baby’s father Gabriel, and how she views relationships now. Halle’s appearance on the cover of the fashion magazine is the first time a black woman is featured on the cover since Naomi Campbell’s 1989 cover. The only reason she is submitting now, she says, is that Vogue made her an offer she couldn’t refuse: the September cover. “What that means for a woman of color and what that means in the fashion world, what that means to pop culture, there was no way I could say, ‘No, I’m not going to be on the biggest issue of the year.’”

On her relationship with Gabriel:

The debate has always been fierce about who should wear the crown of Greatest Rapper Of All Time. Kanye West was interviewed by Angie Martinez of Hot 96 yesterday. Angie asked Kanye who he looks to as someone who makes him work harder. You’ll be surprised to know that the man with the humongous ego did not give his own name. He responded:

I don’t know about you but Passion mag is really doing it for me these days. I usually pick it up for my monthly salon sessions. This is their 4th issue and I think they’re doing a great job.

Kenyan musician, Suzanna Owiyo, looks resplendent on the cover of the August 2010 Passion magazine. In an in-depth interview, she reveals why she will be voting YES for the proposed draft constitution.

Remember Khia? She’s the lady who sang ‘My Neck, My Back’ what seems like a gazillion years ago. Talk about a one hit wonder. These days I only hear about her when she’s beefing with some random person in a non-intelligent rant which just seems like a jumble of words. This is the first time in a long time I have actually understood her and even agree with what she’s saying! She talked to Vibe.com and gave the ladies tips for the bedroom.

…that he doesn’t care what you think about him having a white wife. This whole black women vs. white women thing is starting to get old. I really don’t see what the big deal is. All that matters is you are happy with whomever you decide to love. I will admit, I was a bit disappointed that it was not a black woman he chose, but I was more disappointed because I would have loved that woman to be me (sssshhhhh don’t tell my baby). I had a huge crush on Taye back in the day. I’m just happy that two people are in love and happy with each other. Taye also makes some really good points and it’s great to see how eloquent he is.

I understand the idea of having something that you call your own, and how it could feel when a member of your clan, so to speak, chooses to be with someone from another clan. Kudos to Film Director, Wanuri Kahiu, for making it into Vogue Italia! Making Kenyans proud! She won an award for Best Short Film in Cannes for Pumzi. From the interview, she sounds really down to earth in spite of all her achievements. 2010 is your year girl! And it’s just the beginning!
